Logan, was found wondering the streets in Spring Valley, Ca with 2 other dogs by one of our fosters.
When they found where they live the owner grabbed their other 2 dogs and said we don't want him.
So of course, our foster took him and called our founder right away.
The other 2 older dogs are Labradoodle's as well, but we don't know if they are this baby's parents.
So hard for me to understand, how easy it was for them to just get rid of this poor boy.
Of course we took Logan under our wings. He showed signs of a slight periodic limp, but he was examined and all is well. He has been vetted, vaccinated, microchipped and will be neutered soon. Logan, is so sweet and loves all people and dogs. He's still young so will benefit greatly from obedience training.
Update, we now understand why they wanted to get rid of Logan. Poor baby limp started to become more obvious to our founder. She knew something was wrong. She just sent this message.
1/10/24.. Well I need to update Logan's post.
Unfortunately, after a week of rest Logan was obviously still limping and since I've been doing this for so long I know something is wrong with his hip.
Took him in yesterday for X-rays. Dr. Says, X-rays confirm that he does have an old maybe 3+ weeks old Left hip Femur Head and Bone fractures. These fractures are almost always from trauma. Poor baby.
It's starting to heal and scar tissue is forming, but there is obvious pain when he gets up from a sitting or laying down positions. Vet said, since he's so young it could continue to heal on its own. He's currently on pain meds and anti-inflammatories. After reviewing the X-rays over and over again I think it's best our specialist reviews the X-rays so I sent them today. Will continue to update you and anyone that would like more information.
Picture of X-ray attached.
Right now he's on moderate exercise, no jumping etc, but he doesn't care he's the best lap puppy ever. Once he loosens up he walks well on leash and loves his walks and exercise he's getting and oh boy does he love his adventures at the beach. Such a cutie.
Yes, Logan has specialist needs and if surgery now is not an option because of his age, I think the right family that can support his future medical would be very lucky to have him.
If you live in San Diego County or surrounding areas have a home with a secured yard and have fallen in love with this precious boy then please complete our adoption application at www.tlck9rescue.org.
